Hello there, you’ve found us - we are CastleHorses. With our animals, friends and family we live in beautiful mid-Louth on the east coast of Ireland, the ‘land of legends’.
Tom Ridgeway has been around horses for a very long time. We’re not exactly counting (sorry Tom) but it’s been more than thirty years now and still going strong.
Patricia (Trish) Ridgeway owns a couple (ok, several) of her own horses and she and ‘the boys’ love everything about mountains and Trec! Lots about that later.

A Brief Introduction
Our home in Dillonstown, in pre-Cromwellian times, was known as Glydemouth Castle and is listed on the National Monuments Register. There isn’t a lot of the original structure remaining but what there is we protect and care for to the best of our ability. The site has great importance in local history and lore (dare we say ‘legend’?) and we are very proud to be its custodians. We’ll tell you the one about the big white horse who came galloping home from the siege of Drogheda, miraculously through enemy lines and home the whole way to Glydemouth. True story!
From Dillonstown, we can tailor rides for you. You will firstly have a short ability assessment, and after that we will pick out the right horse for you and set up your ride so you can enjoy the strand.

The Buddy Plan
someone got you started at 'the horses' and it hasn't stopped, right?
Well, we have an idea.
This is for people who already ride with us (that can easily be you!) who then bring along a friend...
If you invite someone to come riding with you, to CastleHorses, and they stay through FOUR lessons, here's the plan.
We will take you BOTH on our favourite ‘Around-the- Rocks’ seaside hack, it will include a special little surprise, and we'll also give you BOTH €10 off!
(that’s a 20% discount)
If they stay for four MORE lessons (after the first hack) we have an even bigger surprise in stage two!
